What's your opinion about jrock-bands going overseas more and more?
To take Dir en grey as an example. They came to europe first, but lately it seems like they're focussing on taking over the US first. What do european fans think of that? And Americans? What about the japanese? Do they still feel appreciated?
Tell me what you think!
As for my opinion...I personally feel a bit bummed that Diru decided to not visit europe as much as the US. Like they're sorta neglecting us. But on the other hand I'm really glad for all the american fans, cause diru concerts are *_*
I've also seen Desray live in Holland, which was ultimately awesome, though those are more one-time things. They come to europe every year or two and do 3 gigs. It's like they save up a few years and play some, then, having spent all their money, they go back again XD

I actually think that we should get more J-rock over here... *is American*
I mean, I love Dir en Grey and they're my favorite band, but what about Gackt and Desray and all those other good bands? We see none of that stuff... >< Plus around here I can't find anything about Dir en Grey (I live in the middle of nowhere though).
I really think that J-Rock should be shared more.
*blinks* They are? Cool, I never knew that! Maybe diru figured that preforming at the Rock AM Ring (is that right? Can't remember) and the tour(s) they did were enough for now (in Europe that is). Don't worry, I'm sure they'll return after they get finished with thier tour in Japan... if Kaoru doesn't die of a heart attack before then... he seems to be really stressed out lately, nee? Or is it just me?

Anyway (since for some reason my post got cut off), my opinion is definitely supportive for the J-Rock side! It's funny, I just got an ipod nano and all I have on it is J-Rock. The idiots in my class were like, "Hey, why do you listen to that Japanese stuff?" I got one of them to listen to 'Cage' and she fell in love with diru... heh... I guess that's why I want more stuff over here. You wouldn't believe how close-minded most Americans are! They all tell me the same thing, "Hey, that's cool. I thought it would be like, '*insert that annoying high-pitched Oriental music from the movies, badly imitated through whistling here*' But this is cool." Morons.
I don't mean to be... well, mean. You know? It just seems to me like until we get the really good stuff over here--like diru--everyone will keep thinking about other cultures like that. And that pisses me off.
Okay, I'm done ranting. BYE!

Actually, Desray was in the US^^ At some con, PokeyPillow (my former jrock rp-partner) saw them live ^^ They're an amazing band!! Their music is awesome, but live it's even BETTER! Theyr'e really the best live-band I've ever seen (they rival Diru big time, depending on where diru plays). I have Karyu's plectrum^_____^ /out of fangirl mode
Gackt has been in the us too I think o.o not sure though ^^;; or there were plans for him to go there at least^^
Diru stuff is hard to find. Almost every E-bay seller sells bootlegs, unless you go there from people on diru communities on LJ.
And I know they'll come back, but the dividing is a bit mean XD They do at most 5 shows in europe (incl the festivals) and then they go to the US for 293784 of them. And I know the states are BIG, but still, it costs me an average of 300 euro's to just see them live >_< I don't think i can go this year, unless they come to holland XD (which desray did btw o.o that was AWESOME XD...again, sorry for the fangirling XD
But yeah, my rational side does say they have more shows than they have time and they probably can't focus on every single piece of the world. I can't complain ^^ I love them too much for that XD And I feel sorry for places like Australia, which seems to have quite the fanbase, only they never played there. So yes, I'm happy they come at all!^____^

Yes, I understand all that... and Gackt DID come here at one point (2003?) but we have yet to see even one of his singles being released...
Desray's been in America?? I didn't know that!! I just got recently hooked on them, so I'm still really clueless. XD if they ever come back I'll drag my friend to one of thier concerts...
That's actually how I got hooked to Jrock, my online friend shoving link after link down my throat til I finally gave it a shot... o_O Guess I'm stubborn.
Anyway, I still wish that we got more stuff here. Like, actual CDs, not just lives. Although lives are awesome, they're expensive... ^^; You know that, though. 300 euros? o_O Whoa.
I'll stop ranting now. ^^;;;; I tend to do that a lot. Bye!

Yeah, the thing about single/album/dvd releases is that it depends on the band. Desray releases some in europe...I think o.O MUCC as well. All through neotokyo.de I think. So only online and in two neotokyo shops in germany.
The thing is, nowhere they're being released. No actual cd-store will ever have Dir en grey. In some specialized cd-stores (mostly independent ones, that don't belong to a huge chain-store) can order it, but it'll be shipped from japan, expensive as hell x_x
Good that youdid finally give jrock a chance! XD If you ever need some files, request them in the upload sections or poke me online^^ I have too much jrock/pop/kpop/krock, don't even listen to half of them, I'll gladly upload anything!^^
And yes, I spent 300 euro's on both of my berlin trips (so about 600 in total x_x) Desray came to holland, but already was expensive as hell as well, hostel, trip, tickets, food/booze XD whoah XD)
